Help Cremating my dog
Beschermde donatie
So, about 2 years ago, after a visit to the vet because my baby boy wasn't feeling well, I found out he'd developed lyme disease. Well for the past few years he's had off and on bouts of lethargy so we'd go to the vet who'd give him something to combat the Lyme. Some may know but, Lyme never really goes away, it just hangs around and bites every now and then.
Well, this past Monday I took him to the vet again because he hasn't been eating, vet said it seems like tape worm, so he got put on some medication for that, vet also said to bring him back Wednesday if he didn't seem any better.
Wednesday rolls around so we bring him back, xrays, bloodwork, results. The Lyme has gone into his kidneys. The vet said it happens in 1% of 1% of dogs with Lyme. Just my luck....
I can't afford an $8000-$10000 surgery that MIGHT save him(50/50 odds is what I'm told), the only humane thing to do is to pay to have my pup euthanized. It absolutely breaks my heart to do this, but I can't see letting this drag out and letting him suffer just for a few more days with him.
I work, some of you may know I work 2 jobs, but I also need to buy groceries, pay rent, car payment(my own and part of my mother's since she doesn't get enough from her current job), and car insurance for both vehicles. I between the two of us we can't really afford to do anything for him.
Blu(my dog), has gotten me through so much in the almost 6 years he's been with me. From having a home to becoming homeless to finding a place to live, From when I couldn't afford my own food, but always made sure he had his, to being able to slowly pay for a car while having food for both of us. Blu has kept my head above water through my lowest points, the least I can do is end his suffering.
I get a check from one of my 2 jobs tomorrow, so that's when I'm sending him to wait by the rainbow bridge for me(Like I said above, I work, I can spend the money myself, but if I do both my own and my mother's car's miss a payment and possibly get repossessed, or my rent doesn't get paid possibly getting my evicted, or I don't pay my car insurance and that gets canceled). Anything and everything you guys can spare would be so very much appreciated.
$200 will cover Euthanizing him(If I bring him home and bury him)
$400 will cover Euthanizing and a cremation service that would allow his ashes to be returned to me
