These costs will cover a 10-12 week program focusing on:

Business Plan
Market Research
Business Structure
Business Licensing and Permits
Patents, Copyrights and Trademarks
The Importance of Credit
Access to Capital
Insurance
Accounting
Marketing and Social Media
Financial Literacy
Mediation
Life Goal Setting

We will need the funds by January 1, 2019.

While the City of Chicago’s unemployment rate has fallen to 4.5% over the past year, the unemployment rate of Chicago’s majority-minority South Shore neighborhood, is more than double that at 11.9%.
Small businesses make up 99.7 percent of U.S. employer firms, according to the SBA. A survey found that 66% of Americans would like to start a small business (UPS Survey), but often do not know how to begin.

The Butterfly Community’s vision is to give young people the mentorship, education and resources to start businesses that create new jobs in the South Shore neighborhood.

If we receive the funds necessary to support our teens we will be grateful as we will be on our mission to alleviate poverty.

A $20 donation will support a teen for one month!
$50 will help to provide mentors in various fields.
$200 will support a class of ten!

We have fiscal sponsorship from Fractured Atlas so all donations are tax deductible.

This campaign is part of the 2018 Clinton Global Initiative University Commitments Challenge.
