My name is Jessi and I've known Courtney for 15 years. When I found out she was pregnant I could not be any more happier for her and Jason then they were themselves. She had a couple miscarriages before being blessed with Makayla. As a mother the waiting period to meet your little one couldn't come soon enough and to be able to hold them in your arms. Unfortunately that is not something Courtney and Jason got to do. A little more about Makayla... It started a little like this...
Makayla was born March 23rd at 5:43pm!

Super easy labor and delivery.
I went in for a BP check on the 23rd and because it was high, they decided to induce me!
Started Pitocin at 10:30am.
Broke my water at 11:40am. Got epidural around 12:50pm. Started pushing at 5:35pm.
8 minutes; or 4 contractions later, she was born!
After several hours of trying to get her oxygen saturation levels to stay in the 90s, they decided to transport her to Children's Hospital in St. Paul. She just needed to have a little bit of oxygen therapy. Due to my blood pressure needing to be monitored, I was not able to be discharged for at least 24 hours.
Once they arrived at Children's, they were starting to think she may have gotten a little bit of pneumonia. But it's unclear what's going on.
She is a strong girl.
They are VERY humble and have not asked for any help other than prayers. But we all know what kind of toll this is taking on them not only mentally, physically but financially. Please help them be able to be with Makayla during this difficult time. Anything helps! Thank you and God bless!
