Help Bring Shafiq Back to the UK

We are raising money for a really good person who has been subject to a miscarriage of justice.
Shafiq Rahman gave so much of his time and energy to the local community, when he was studying and working here over eight years. Now, he needs your help to return to me, his wife, in the U.K.
Shafiq was detained after he overstayed his visa. He was not aware that he was overstaying, because of negligent dealings of his solicitor at that time.
In a nutshell, in July 2018, Shafiq was detained by the Home Office. He was removed from the UK to Dhaka, Bangladesh on a flight paid for by the UK government. He was not offered any other options to buy his own flight ticket. This deportation could have been avoidable.
Additionally, he was incorrectly advised, and taken advantage of, by his solicitor at the time. This has meant that he now faces a potential ban of 10 years for re-entry to the U.K. We have reported their misconduct to the regulatory authorities. However, we now have a new solicitor who has taken up our case.
Now, Shafiq is in the process of applying for a Dependent Visa to stay until 2021. In order to do that, our new solicitor has said it is really important for us to provide as many character reference letters as possible and secure funding. If you cannot donate money, perhaps you could write a reference letter in support?
We are desperate to raise the funding needed to bring him back.
This amounts to total of almost £5,000, which is broken down as follows:
· Solicitor’s Fees: £2,500
· Health Surcharge (3 years): £1,200
· Spouse Visa Application: £636
· Courier Fees: £100
· Flight ticket back to the U.K: £450
Grand total = £4,886.
We are looking to raise this money by Christmas 2018.
This is so that I can visit him at Christmas time with some funding to help him pay for all the things he needs to return.
If we don’t hit our overall target, we will keep raising money next year.
So, with your help, little by little, I am sure we can get Shafiq back as a valued member of the community in Kingston.
