My cousin was in a concentration camp in Bosnia during the Bosnian War against Serbia in the early 1990's.  He was forced to dig graves, was deprived of water and food, forced to accept sexual assault, daily beatings, and even had to beat others in the camp, including his dad.

After the war, he wanted Serbia to pay for the mental distress he encountered while in the concentration camp.  He, along with others who sued Serbia, lost.  Because of this, he has now been notified that he has to pay Serbia 8000 Euros (5000 in court taxes, 2600 are other fees) within 15 days of the notice or he loses his home.  My cousin is a father to three children and no job.  His dad also has to pay money to Serbia.  If he does not pay the full amount, his house and the land he owns will be taken away and his family will be left with no home.
