Help Ali Help Others!
Hello, all!
I want to share with you a campaign to support our brother Ali in serving on the Helping Hand for Relief and Development volunteer trip to Jordan. HHRD organizes a trip every year to distribute relief packages, establish mobile homes and schools, and visit orphanages in Syrian and Palestinian refugee camps.
To say the least, Ali is a very active member in our community. When I knew him in high school, he had over five hundred documented volunteer hours and spearheaded numerous charity initiatives. He recently graduated UW, and served as the president of MSA-- organizing conferences, events, workshops, and halaqas for students. He is currently the Youth Director for MAPS-Bridges, a middle school youth group geared towards youth's spiritual and emotional development. He is also the Regional Coordinator for HHRD, and a member of the Uplift Dawa Team. He is a mentor to so many, and anyone who has met him can vouch for his infinite commitment to helping others.
When we speak of "giving back", it's often in the context of helping others who have helped us. Be it directly or indirectly, our community would not function as it does without the dedication of community leaders like Ali. Let's have this be a show of support-- and investment in the direct volunteer efforts Ali will be partaking in on the trip.
