Help Ahsan Stay in College

Hi, my name is Muhammad Ahsan Khan and I am a first-year student at DePauw University and I need your help to stay in college.  I received a scholarship of $37,000 USD yet that is not proving to be enough given my financial circumstances. I originally started this GoFundMe about 3 months ago, before I came to college and am now updating it.

STORY: I come from a family that was once capable of conveniently paying the bills while living luxurious life, but while I was doing my A Level, my father invested a major amount of his resources abroad, which did not work quite well, and led to an enormous loss for my family.

 At this point, I had to withdraw from my school before attempting my A-Level exam and take a gap year since the idea of paying exam fee along with the school fee seemed like quite a no-go by then. Coming from a family with deep moral values, I took the responsibility of easing the financial burden on my father. I took up every opportunity of freelancing just to support my family, which is why I was doing more than one task and studying simultaneously. I saved the money I made through freelancing and used that for completing my A Level and taking my SAT to apply abroad.

The only dream I’ve had since the day I stepped into high school was to secure admission in one of the top universities of the world. There were points where I had lost all hope but the never ending support from my family encouraged me to not give up so easily. And after long hours of work and sleepless nights spent studying, I was fortunate to secure admission at DePauw University. I got a scholarship of $37000 out of $63000. I require about $16000 to make it through fall semester. The devastating financial crisis were a huge set back in my academic journey as well as my personal growth.

This is where your help is apparent because no matter what I do or how much I do, it would not be enough to come up to the $16000 mark. I ask you for your help, as a fellow college student, as a struggling young adult and as a human being. I request you to help me take the final step towards my goal. The only barrier I face is money. Never did I think money would stop me from living my dream. It is in these dire circumstances that I am left with no choice but to ask around for help. Every single penny of yours that is put towards this cause is immensely appreciated. I will not ask you to share as much as you can, but I will ask you to contribute whatever you are comfortable with. I understand that putting your money towards a cause such as this is a daunting decision given the era of embezzlement we live in.
