Mom & 2 Kids Escape Tortuous Spouse

This isn't a story about spousal abuse, it is one of spousal TORTURE.   My sister has a good friend who is in desperate need.  Once you hear her story, I know you will want to help.  Because of the severity of the crimes against her and the uncertainty of her abusive husband's release we are keeping her anonymous.  As a child in a patriarical society where abuse of women is tolerated, she was sexually abused by older male relatives.  She is a naturalized United States citizen who has lived in a physically, emotionally and verbally tortuous marriage for many, many years.  Many of the atrocities done to her by her husband are too graphic to describe here.  While the abuse was persistent throughout her marriage, within  the last 12 months, her abusive spouse has raged pyschotically.  He has put out lit cigarettes on her arms, poured hot oil on to her body, used his fists on her and sexually tortured her in ways I cannot post.  For the past 6 months, he has kept her hostage in her own home even disconnecting the utilities so she and her 2 preteen boys sit at night in a dark, cold house.  Two days ago, while he was passed out in a drunken stupor, she and her 2 boys bravely escaped running 6 blocks, she bare foot in a Chicago January, to the safety of a friend's home.  Fortunately, her husband has been arrested and is currently in jail, however, no one knows for how long.  Since all of the famly assets are in his name, she is scared and penniless.   For all of us who have been abused in a relationship, we know the courage it takes to leave.  For someone with such a lengthy history of abuse, the transistion is especially brutal.  This fund is being set up for the immediate financial needs of her and  her children.  Please help even if it is in prayers only.
