Todd Claxon, U.S. Vet, Needs Our Help

Donation protected
With this individual’s reluctancy, Team Claxon has started a GoFundMe page for an awesome person who is in need of our help.  He was reluctant about this page because it's not comfortable for him.  I told him, he's not asking for the help....we are.  He just has to accept the help in any form that it may come.

This person we are supporting is Todd Claxon.  He needs our help!!  Todd is a 16-year Veteran serving in both the Navy and the Army.  He is a son, a brother, a friend, and a dad.  Like many of our servicemen and women of today, he has experienced war, leaving PTSD in it's trails.  With the help of Todd's sister, Erin, I am putting this together.  My name is Judy.  I'm an old friend of Todd's.  I met Todd when we were in our early 20's.  He was in the Navy at the time.  After so many years I lost contact with Todd, me residing on the East Coast and him residing in Central U.S.  I was recently reunited with Todd on Facebook and learned of his current situation.  For those of you who don't know Todd, he is a kind-hearted, caring and funny human being.  He loves his friends and family and stands true for what he believes in.

Today, he is battling his own personal war with PTSD.  As most of you know this is a mental health disorder that is triggered from a terrifying event and it is a disorder that not only debilitates the diagnosed, but also the loved ones around that person.  It is a disorder that the diagnosed cannot go through or handle alone.  A strong support system is needed to help the person get through this.  This is where we come in.  Todd needs us.

Todd is also a dad.  A dad of three children.  His oldest is just 15.  He loves these children with every bone in his body.  Unselfishly, he is living out of his van so he can provide for them and give them the support he believes they deserve.  He chooses to also live in his van because it gives him more flexibility, due to the cost of rent, to be near his children so he can
see them as regularly as he can.  He has spent enough time away from his family while at war.  This has got to stop!  Recently divorced, Todd wants nothing but the best for his children, like all good parents do.  He does have a job, but a job that pays him just enough money to support his children, leaving him with little else, hence, living out of a van.  This is an absolute disgrace...A man or woman who serves our country left to earn just enough money to just get by is unacceptable.  He, deserves better then this.  They, deserve better then this.  This is where we come in as well!!

The goal of this fundraiser is to raise enough money to provide Todd with a fresh, solid start to help get him back on his feet.  We need to raise enough money to get him out of that van and into an apartment where he not only has a roof over his head, but can also give his children a well-deserved, comfortable visit---- a healthy visit----with their dad at his own place.  They deserve a dad and he deserves to see his children and be the best dad he can.

Getting Todd out of the cold and into an apartment and better living conditions will also help him to better fight his very personal battle with PTSD.  He is doing everything he can to deal with this disorder, including taking better care of himself, which is a huge factor with this disorder.  Living in a home verse a van will also contribute to him taking better care of himself and continue to do so.  It will give him the faith and hope he needs to get through this, because, as a Stage IV cancer survivor, I know that without this faith and hope, there is nothing.

Let's give Todd this hope for a better life.  A life in a warm place to live, with food and a bathroom.  A civil life that he deserves.  A place he can call his own.  A place that his children can visit their dad and create memories to treasure
Currently, Todd is living out of his van.  I learned of this recently, after viewing a video post on his on Facebook page telling everyone "not to worry about him."  But, how could we not worry?  He unselfishly served our country in different capacities.  He is a human being.  He should not be living this way.  He protected us and kept us safe.  Now let's help get him safe.  Let's help his family and friends stop worrying as well.  They want to know that their loved one is okay.  They also deserve this.
forever.  Todd's children are young.  They have a long life to live and to look forward to, together as a family, with their dad.

This is an opportunity to really give back to the people and their families that keep us safe.  It is an opportunity to thank a serviceman and his family, personally.  It is a chance for us to give back.  A chance to help our family, our friend, at a time when he needs us most.  Please help by donating anything you can to help support our cause.  Let's give back to this serviceman in a way he will never forget.  In a way that can get him to the next healthy chapter of his life!!

Todd Claxon, this one's for you!!  Happy New Year!  Thank you for service!

Thank you sincerely!
