Help a Growing Muslim Community to Thrive

Donation protected
We are Muslims..

We are parents..

We need to invest in our hereafter before its too late.

Thurrock Muslim Parents Society is a professionally run non-profit organisation started as a husband and wife team. Just over a year ago, we experienced a significant loss in our personal life, praise be to Allah (swt) in all circumstances. Every experience in life is a sign to return back to Allah (swt) and draw closer to him through various ways. We decided to plough our energy and efforts into our local Muslim community.

Between us, we have full-time day jobs, are studying and look after three young children. We reflected on the current challenges we face in raising our children to be confident Muslims. We want to leave behind a community that remembers Allah (swt), a legacy that is a sadaqah jariyah (ongoing charity) for us ALL.

We launched this platform in March this year (2019) to connect, inspire and educate Muslims. We have been absolutely blown away at the demand and interest for this initiative. In only a few months, we've connected with so many Muslims in the area who echo our vision and have all been yearning for the same for so long, Alhamdulillah!

What We've Done So Far...

* Family Fun Day Launch Event (a fantastic turnout with many Muslims attending and one family even walking for over an hour to get there Subhan’Allah!)

* Kids Ramadan Workshop (we reached maximum capacity and had to reject subsequent registrations!)

* Dawah Work
- We provide ‘Learn About Islam’ sessions to early years establishments. We have received outstanding feedback on the sessions provided alhamdulillah. This work is crucial in fostering better understanding and respect between Muslim and non-Muslim children and adults within the borough, to make it a safe place to co-exist peacefully.

- We engage in local community events with non-Muslims, to counteract the misrepresentation of Muslims in the media.  For 'Giving For Thurrock Day' we were even featured in the local newspaper alhamdulillah!

Upcoming Events

* RE/RSE Adults Workshop (a specialist in the field has been enlisted to ensure the highest quality information and experience for attendees)
* Eid Gathering (the first of its kind for our sisters and children, we are very excited!)

So What's Planned For The Future?

We have many ideas alhamdulillah, these are only a few...

* Kids Dhul-Hijjah Workshop (interactive role-play workshops)
* Lives of the Prophets (a set of regular children's workshops)
* Untangling Holidays/Festivals (workshops to support parents and children manage western holidays with an Islamic viewpoint)
*Uses and dangers of Social Media (workshops for parents and teenagers)
*Seminars on various Islamic topics (e.g love of Allah, Muhammad saw as our role model)
*Annual Family Fun Days (to support our local Muslim entrepreneurs to connect with local customers and help their businesses to grow)
*Annual social/Eid Gatherings (to help Muslims develop a strong supportive network)
*Community Iftar Events (for the whole family)
*Sisters/Brothers Regular Meet-ups (to gain knowledge and create deeper connections with each other)
*Sports/Leisure/Fun Activities (for sisters, brothers and the youth)
*Skills Workshops (language and communication skills, time management, managing relationships, mental health etc)

Now We Need YOUR Help

We are entirely self-funded and run by a team of sincere volunteers Alhamdulillah. We do not expect any return/profit and instead we all hope for our reward in the hereafter insha'Allah. However, we have realised that running such an organisation comes at an increasing cost and we now need everyone's support, so that we can continue to develop more beneficial events/services/resources for the community. Every single penny will be recorded and tracked.

What We Need Your Donations For

* Hall hire for events (this is one of the main costs as we currently do not have our own premises)
* To purchase projector and screen (for professional presentations and seminars)
* To purchase PA system for clear, audible, high quality speeches and sound content at events
* To cover printing and purchasing costs of resources/materials needed for running both adult and children's workshops
* To cover the costs of travel/attendance of outside speakers, scholars and specialists
* To purchase room divider boards (so that we can provide segregated facilities for events and cater for both brothers and sisters simultaneously)
* To hire childcare staff (so that we can provide creche facilities to parents who may not be able to attend events otherwise)
* To cover expenses needed to create resource packs for non-Muslim schools/nurseries to gift them at the end of their dawah sessions, enabling further learning about Islam

Please Dig Deep And Donate Generously...

to help shape the future of this growing community and as an ongoing charity for yourself, an investment that will continue to benefit you when you need it the most insha'Allah. We pray Allah (swt) accepts this from all of us.
