Together We Can Save a Life…

On August 9th, 2014, tragedy befell the City of Ferguson and North St. Louis County. A shooting involving a police officer resulted in the unfortunate death of a young man. Within hours Ferguson became the limelight of the nation and suffered a series of heart-wrenching events.

The men and women of the Ferguson Police Department, and nearby agencies that have assisted, have been the subject of threats of violence and death against them and their families. Despite these threats, officers continue to ensure the safety and protection of the community in which they serve.

As we anticipate the release of the Grand Jury’s decision, we fear the potential for an escalated level of violence, placing our officers in a position of imminent danger. Now, more than ever, the Ferguson community needs their officers.

The Ferguson police officers have bullet-resistant vests that provide protection to a portion of their body. Unfortunately, they are without adequate headgear providing protection to the vital areas of the head.

We, the friends and supporters of the Ferguson Police Officers, are asking for your help. Now is our opportunity to help protect those who selflessly protect us every day.

Your donation will help to purchase Kevlar® helmets and protective headgear that could save a life. This much needed equipment could be the difference between officers being able to go home to their families at the end of the day or not.

Thank you for your concern and generosity!

We wanted to thank everyone for all their support and contributions. We are only $12,500 away from reaching our goal!!!

Last week it was released that the grand jury would reach a decision at any time. We knew we didn't have much time left and had to find a way to get these helmets to the officers. With the circumstances of the anticipated unrest we were able to find a company willing to supply the helmets with the agreement that we provide payment within 30 days.

These helmets are truly vital for the officers with the dangerous and fatal conditions they face each day. You can see from this photo just how life saving these helmets are. This helmet was worn by one of the officers this past week. The dents and dings in the helmet are from rocks and other objects thrown at the officer's head. Without this helmet the officer would have had a much different outcome that evening.

You are truly making a difference in these officers' lives. Without everyone's support and generosity it would not be possible to get these helmets. We are still in need of contributions in order to pay the supplier for the helmets. Please continue to share the word about the campaign so that we can reach our goal of $25,000.
