Boiler for the AACCCR

Donation protected

Dear Community,

As you know, the African American Cultural Center of the Capital Region, Inc. (the AACCCR or the Center)
is a nonprofit organization committed to educating, enriching, and empowering residents of the Capital Region through educational, cultural and performing arts, programs, activities, and exhibits that promote awareness and raise the collective consciousness of all ethnicities to the rich and vibrant history, contribution, and culture of African Americans.

This fundraiser is  to raise monies needed to replace the broken heater in the Center, allowing us to warm the builidng throughout the winter, and permitting us to continue our cultural and artistic programming for the community.

Due to the long-time vacancy of our historic building located at 135 South Pearl Street prior to our purchase, many essential systems are in disrepair.

The boiler has failed, and forced us to find supplemental heating. This situation has also limited the Center to using only two of the four floors in the building.

In seeking to replace the boiler, we have consulted several heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) professionals, and obtained estimates, all stating that $15,000.00 is needed to cover the costs of a new Buderus GB142/45 gas boiler, necessary piping, fittings, and ventilation work.

The funds are needed as soon as possible due to the current frigid tempartures of Upstate New York.

When the new heater is purchased, all donors will be invited to the Center for an intimate gathering.

While raising funds, the Center will continue to find creative ways to continue offering programs for the community.

For more info on the Center, please visit http://www.aacccr.org/.   Additionally, we will make available copies of our annual reports for 2016 and 2017, detailing the work of the Center.

We hope you will support our efforts to update our heating.

Yours in service,
Angela O'Neal, Linda Jackson-Chalmers, Janice Mwapaga, Larry Mauldin, Serena Joyce White-Lake, Travon T. Jackson, Lakime Meadows, Angelicia A. Morris, and Vibetta Sanders
