Sleeping Bags for Homeless

Once again, we are raising funds to buy below-zero sleeping bags to pass out to homeless people who are living and sleeping outside during the winter. 

This year, the homeless situation in the Twin Cities seems worse than ever.



Tent encampments have popped up in both Minneapolis and St. Paul.  Even though authorities removed the homeless people and their tents along 35E, those people are still out there, in a different location.  They may be less visible, but no doubt they are COLD.





When I drive by these people living in tents, it is so disturbing thinking how freezing they must be living outside in Minnesota's harsh winter! 

I just cannot imagine.




I am always SO thankful that I have a warm car and a warm home to return to.

Our harsh Minnesota weather is just too cold and too dangerous for people to live outside -- and yet, sadly, they are still out there!    The homeless situation is a complicated multifaceted issue.  Keeping people warmer is not.  




After coming face to face with the homeless people sleeping outside in this cold, we decided to raise funds to pass out below zero sleeping bags to homeless people.



We thought below zero sleeping bags would be a way to keep people a little warmer.   




This year, we are again collecting donations to buy below zero sleeping bags to hand out to people this winter who are living out in this COLD!!
