The call to adoption is something that God placed upon our lives, even before His call to ministry. Since recent years have brought us through raising our own children and several ministry moves, it was something that we saw happening farther down the road. However, in recent weeks, God has flung open the door to adopt, so we are walking through in faith!
We are initiating the process to adopt an infant from our hometown of Blytheville. This unborn child was facing the possibility of termination. Enter us! First and foremost, we are asking for people to come alongside us in prayer. Please pray for us as we walk through this process, that mom makes healthy decisions, and that baby is healthy.
However, we are also praying that God will provide financially in order to save this little life. The cost will be significant since it is a private adoption. As stated previously, this was not a move we were prepared to take in the very near future, especially financially. Significant funds, around $5,000, are required up front to begin the process. There will be further fees throughout the process, as well as maternal support needs such as maternity clothing, prenatal vitamins, and medical costs not already covered. On the homefront, we have zero in the way of baby furniture, gear, and supplies as we sold and donated what we had over the course of several moves.
Again, first and foremost we covet your prayers. However, if you feel led to join us financially in bringing this baby home, please know how much of a blessing you will be to our lives and the life of this child.
