Halle Deffert - Aplastic Anemia

Halle is a 17 year old girl living in Port Orchard, Washington. She has been a type 1 diabetic since she was 2 years old, and in November of 2015 she was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia, a diseased commonly known as bone marrow failure. Halle is now living with 2 autoimmune diseases. Before her diagnosis Halle was a full time student in her junior year and also working as a server at Harbor Place in Gig Harbor. Halle can no longer work due to her immunodeficiency or attend school. Halle is looking at a long road to recovery that includes weekly blood transfusions, constant monitoring by nurses, intense chemotherapy , and possibly a bone marrow transplant.
