Hello, my name is Habacuc Petion and I am the President and a co-founder of Rebirth Inc.

I have been living and working in Salisbury MD for over 23 yrs.

Rebirth is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization,  founded in 2002, which is committed and devoted to make a difference in our community both here and abroad.
REBIRTH’s EIN# 522335544.

Our mission is to see the underprivileged families receive a second chance.

Our vision is to restore moral, dignity, and social Integration of the disadvantaged; through, basic education, information, social service, communication, community development and outreach.

You may have heard about the 2010 earthquake, which touched mostly the capital; however Hurricane Matthew disaster is worse than the seismic damages in term of destruction. It touched basically the whole country and some places are worse than the other. For instance cities with 1000 to 2000 houses only have 50 to 100 left, which are not safe condition for people to shelter themselves.
Over 100,000 people are now in provisional shelters and many remain on the street on the streets

Some places like Kayimit Island with about 18000 people have only few houses left standing. These kind of particular cases are common in several departments (a department is structured like a state, but in a smaller scale) Grand-Anse, Sud est, Nippes, sud and more. Most of the cities in those departments literally have to rebuild from scratch. It’s hard get contact  to the outside world and loved ones. People are extremely worried. There are no schools, or churches left to shelter the people, no means of communications, no place to stay, no water to drink, no food to eat, no clothes to wear, no medicine, the list goes on and on.

Objective: Relief Efforts to Collect $100,000 for Haitian Victims  of the devastating Hurricane Mathew.

Goal. : To Buy food and Medical supply for 15, 000 people. One kits to supply each affected household for a month in Grand-Anse and Southern part of Haiti.

We need the funds immediatly on the next 20 days.
People are hungry, they need food, medicines, clothes, shoes, shelters, and a longer waiting risks them to get sick with the fatal and deadly cholera.

It means so much to us.
First, we are Haitian and some of us have been victims of the recent earthquake that nearly destroyed the Haitian's capital and other cities. We know how it feels to be a victim of natural disaster, we’ve been through pain, hunger, thirst, extreme poverty and sufferings.

We know our people, we feel what they feel, we know their needs and not sympathy.

Secondly, the most embarrassing slogan is “the poorest county in the world” said the media, governments, individuals alike. Sometimes we are ashamed and sick of it, we feel like going underground, but should we?. Will that solve the problem no, We believe in the great value of this country, that an individual can make a difference. Start with me, you, Salisbury, Maryland etc…

Thirdly, in the past many other relief organizations mismanaged Haitian relief funds, contrary to us as Haitians we want to empower and help sustain our brothers and sisters. We are happy when they are not suffering, not hungry, not naked, and not in this un-human situation. Would you join us?, be part of our team let’s go to Haiti, if you can’t please send your donations.

We are already extremly thankful and greatful for your contributions and/or donations.

All donations are 100% tax deductible
