$20,566 of $5,000 goal
It's with great sadness that we have to say goodbye.
Haigan had been struggling with depression for a long time. It was a battle she fought with great strength and courage. However, the depression became too much. She left.
As many of you know, Haigan was living in Los Angeles. She was an incredibly talented actor and musician and had moved there to pursue her dreams.
Haigan's family will be travelling to LA to bring her home. Travel to the United States is a huge expense, as you can imagine. For Haigan's family (her mother, Louise, and her sisters Masae and Shifra), we would like to reach out and ask for financial support to help cover their airfare, Haigan's cremation and associated costs, as well as any other related expenses that may (and will) arise.
[Updated] The Day family have started discussing possible plans for any additional funds raised. Funds will contribute to a lovely memorial celebration for Haigan. They are also talking about potentially putting something towards a scholarship in Haigan's name or donating to mental health awareness/education/research. It may also go towards therapy for the Day family. The Day family will decide after they have returned from LA. As you can imagine, they are taking it one day at a time. Although we have reached our nominal goal of $5000, please be assured that additional contributions will be put to very good use.
Thank you so much.
Our lovely Haigan will be sorely missed but never ever forgotten.

update: The love and support that is coming through this campaign is greatly felt and hugely appreciated.
As Haigan was a brilliant musician, actor, and lover of the theatre, her family knew it was right to hold her celebration of life by a theatre.
The location will be the Salons (ABC) attached to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre (630 Hamilton Street, Vancouver, BC) which is downtown next to the Vancouver Playhouse.
We're asking everyone to please RSVP as there is limited space. Please email BlackSpear.Productions@gmail.com as soon as you can.
It will be a potluck, so if you would like to bring some finger food, that would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for your ongoing support. Financially and emotionally. It's been a really tough time, but alleviating some financial stress for the Day family has made a big difference. With so much for them to go through, at least one part has been taken care of. And that is amazing. Thank you.
The financial support has been incredible, but what has really been invaluable is the love that has been shown to Haigan and the Day family.
We all love Haigan so much. It has been wonderful to see how many people have come together here to love and remember her.
Sam and I first met Haigan when we were acting together in the Tempest at Tir-na-nOg Theatre on Bowen Island. She played Ariel: a sparky spirit - full of light and joy, but yearning to be free. Never was there ever a more perfect Ariel! I will always remember how she brought her own beautiful spirit to the role, but also her amazing voice! Ariel has a number of songs in the play, and Haigan (the amazing singer that she was) was able to bring such beauty to all her scenes. Cimarron played Prospera. Her last line in the play to Ariel was: "to the elements, be free, and fare thou well!"
Haigan: to the elements, be free, and fare thou well!
Where ever you are, lovely one, be free.
Louise, Masae, and Shifra have changed their flights to accommodate some business, so they will be flying back on Saturday instead of today.
Many thanks go out to Sonya, Judy, and JulieAnne who have been helping the Days in LA as well.
The Days are currently thinking of dates for the memorial; it looks like it will happen over the next couple of weeks, but I will keep you updated on that.
Much love to you all!
Your support is felt greatly and it makes a huge difference.
Louise, Shifra, and Masae arrived safely in LA along with Felicia and Garrett. They were met by Jenny, who also flew down from Vancouver to help them out during their first couple days.
They have found a lovely airbnb to stay in.
Tomorrow, keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they will be making arrangements for Haigan as well as packing up her apartment.
I have received a number of questions about a memorial service. There will definitely be a celebration of her life, but no details have been planned yet. The Days will wait until they are back in Vancouver. But I will post here when I have any information.
Thank you again for everyone's amazing support. We are sending you love as you also grieve and remember lovely Haigan.
Hello dear family and friends of Haigan, My heart goes out to you, and will continue to do so for all time. I will think of you and dear lovely Haigan tomorrow, but will not attend the memorial service, thus leaving more space for those closest to her.Peter and Natasha will be there for me. With much love, Silvaine
