Warriors for Danny

Where do I begin? We all feel overwhelmingly blessed to have such an amazingly close and strong family. However, without my dad, we would not be the family we are today. He has been the solid foundation of our family since the beginning. He has always put others first at all cost and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Working tirelessly and endlessly to provide for all of us girls and my mom. Never once complaining, just always pushing on. I can remembered countless times that we would be sitting at supper as a child and my dad would push his plate away and say he was full, just so that us kids would go back for more. And to this day, he still does this to all of us and our children! Now, Dad is the one in need, but refuses to ask for help. He has been admitted into the hospital as he has become increasingly ill. Right now we know he has pneumonia and gallstones, but the doctors are very concerned about his colon and how sick he is staying. In the days to come, he will have an endoscopy and a colonscopy which we hope will provide some answers as he is unable to even eat ice chips and keep them down. Dads health has deteriorated drastically over the past 6 months and doesn't appear to be getting better in the foreseeable near future. He has 2 slipped disc in his back which has caused him to loose 90% of the muscle tone in his legs. He has diabetes and neuropathy (complete loss of feeling in his feet from the diabetes). He falls regularly on a daily basis due to the lack of feeling, and because of this, he just fell and completely crushed his ankle. Surgery was performed one week ago, and at that time he was told that he can put no weight on it for atleast 3 mths and then if it's healed, he will start physical therapy. The Surgeon believes that it will be about a year before he walks well again and that he may always need the assistance of a cane. Given that our dad has always done manual labor as a roofer, he is out of work indefinitely. At this point, the doctors have declared him disabled. Unfortunately when mom was hospitalized with Breast Cancer, dad utilized any and all additional funds that they had, which left them with no cushion financially. I have chosen to set this fund up (without my parents knowledge at this time), to try and provide some assistance with paying their monthly bills and buying groceries, until we are able to get his disability papers approved. We are told that this is a long process and that we will most likely have to submit the paperwork multiple times before he is approved.

Right now, what my dad needs the most, is prayer. Pray, pray, pray.
If you feel so inclined as to donate monetarily, please know that it is beyond appreciated and will be ever so helpful and greatly appreciated.

We are so thankful to be surrounded by all of our wonderful friends and family during this time. You all are more uplifting than you will ever realize with your texts, calls, FB messages, dinners for my parents, lawn work. Not one gesture goes unnoticed! We love you all!!
