On June 21, 1976, the heavens opened and graced us with one of the kindest, most caring, most courageous people I know. On February 28, 2015, they would open again and welcome her back.
In the (too short) years in between, she would become one of my first, longest-standing, and most cherished friends (making me one of a great many that share such a bond), she would become a loving wife, bring into this world two beautiful children in Kevin and Julia, she would battle colon cancer with an indescribable determination that served as inspiration to not only the fellow afflicted, but to everyone who heard her message to live EVERY MINUTE to the fullest, and (as Bob Whitehead put it) "fill this world with love, laughter and beautiful smiles." This campaign is about a promise. In the winter of 2014-2015, a handful of Michelle's friends reached out and made a promise to her that we would (a) Hold an annual celebration of her life and all that it represents, and (b) Do our best to help young Kevin and Julia with the financial side of their future education expenses.
Lets check two boxes with one stone, shall we?
On Saturday, June 18, 2016, 4PM to 8PM, we will be holding the First Annual Live Like Michelle Celebration in Syracuse! Friends, family, friends of friends, and anyone touched by Michelle or her message are invited - nay IMPLORED to come party! Children too, of course! Lots of food, music, laughs, hugs and fun & games for the kids!
Cost/Donation is $25 per adult (kids free!). NOTE: This is one of those "suggested donation" deals you see at the museum. We'd be more than pleased if you wished to donate more! EVERY PENNY goes right into the kids' college funds.
Can't attend? You can still donate right here! It would be so appreciated.
VERY IMPORTANT: Once you have donated, please contact me (Jason Premo) to let me know (a) Who you are, and (b) Names of other adults and kids you are bringing, so I can add you to the guest list and provide you with location and details.
