2ND ANNUAL SHIRT OFF YOUR BACK EVENT!!

SHIRT OFF YOUR BACK will be hosted at Faranda's Banquet Center 302 Grove St. Dekalb, IL 60115
November 10th 2019 3:00pm-8:00pm


Come wearing your clothing donations and Walk Our Cat Walk! Take it off for the homeless!
(wear your clothing underneath y’all). Or just bring a bag of Donations.
Enjoy some food, entertainment and public speakers from United Way and Hope Haven.
Fundraising items will be available for raffle.


OUR HOPE TRAIN IS BACK!!
HOPE HAVEN WILL BE HOUSING YOUR DONATIONS TO BE DISTRIBUTED TO HOPE HAVEN, SAFE PASSAGE AND OPEN CLOSET OF DEKALB!!


MUCH NEEDED ITEMS:


Pop top can goods (they all don’t have can openers)


Paper Products (toilet paper, paper plates, paper towels etc.)


Water


Clothing: NEW socks and underwear,
gloves, hats, long underwear, jackets, long sleeve shirts/sweatshirts, pants, thermals,
and gift cards for shoes ($25 increments)


Sleeping bags and mats (yoga)


Blankets/pillows


Any Other purposeful items you think they can use.


**ITEMS CAN BE NEW OR USED EXCEPT UNDERWEAR AND SOCKS**


HOPE HAVEN FILLS 45 to 50 BEDS A NIGHT WITH OUR LOCAL HOMELESS!!
(that doesn’t include those who don’t access services through Hope Haven)


Dekalb County’s population in 2017 was 104,733. Out of this number 15.8% were at poverty level. Almost 16% of our population is at risk of being or has become homeless at some point.


We are also asking for new school supplies, Amazon and Visa gift cards from $25-$40. To donate to Our 428 school district.


***ALL PROCEEDS FROM THIS EVENT ARE DONATED TO DISTRICT 428's EMERGENCY FUND WHICH WILL
PURCHASE HYGIENE BAGS, SCHOOL SUPPLIES, GYM SHOES, SCHOOL PHYSICALS, AND FIELD TRIPS FOR
THOSE IN NEED***


AT ANY GIVEN TIME THROUGH OUT THE SCHOOL YEAR 2% of 6,600 STUDENTS IN OUR SCHOOLS IN
DEKALB, IL ARE HOMELESS. THAT'S 150-300 CHILDREN FROM KINDERGARTEN THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL!! (contact our superintendent for more information)
