Grit Spreaders for Busby OAPs

Councillor David Macdonald (IND)I have decided to try to raise £200.00 from the local community to purchase a rotary grit spreader (£139.00) and 2 handheld grit spreaders. (£30.00 each) I have assembled a local team of volunteers who have agreed to assist gritting the pathways of homes of our senior citizens and those with mobility problems taking grit from the local grit bins. This is in response to many calls for help from elderly residents who are worried about pathways this cold season. The work will be voluntary by those who have come forward. Any funds raised beyond the £200 target will be donated to Busby Community Council to go towards worthwhile community initiatives.
