Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is a devastating muscle-wasting disease that strikes about 1 in 3,500 boys. They gradually lose the ability to walk, to feed themselves, to breathe. This disease is currently untreatable, incurable, and 100% fatal, often by late teens. There are promising treatments on the horizon, but we need to raise awareness, and funds to explore these treatments.

In honor of the kids with DMD who have more and more difficulty walking, Griffin's dad Brian and grandfather Gregg will be taking their own long, difficult walk. In October, we will be traveling to Nepal with other parents and compassionate friends of those with DMD and trekking to the base camp of Mount Everest. All of the proceeds of this epic journey will be donated to the most promising research. The first $1,000 Gregg raises will go directly to the Hope for Gus foundation , which will choose one very promising therapy to fund through the Duchenne Alliance .

Please help to end this devastating disease that afflicts our little boy and thousands of others. Please give generously if you are able, as I promise that not a single dollar of your donation will be wasted. But if you can only give $5 or $10....that amount is just as important and appreciated to get us to our goal. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts....and, with your help, from the top of the world!

Hello, Supporters. I want to let you know we're back from Nepal. I would have kept you up to date from this site, but access to internet was spotty on the trail, and we all decided that the best, easiest way to share our journey was in a Facebook group. The group is still active, so you can catch up at https://www.facebook.com/groups/1705375523017732/

Wow. You did it. You have put my campaign for the Trek to Everest to End Duchenne over the top. I feel loved, blessed, and humbled. Griffin & his family are overwhelmed by the support. Tonya and her family likewise. And the others joing us are true heroes. I love you all!
By the way, if you have been thinking you'd like to donate, please do. All additional funds will go directly to the Hope for Gus Foundation, and distributed for promising research.

Up and at 'em for the last partial day at home. Heading to Vermont later for a family sendoff with Maggie, Brian, the boys, and Dodie. Will I get everything done before I have to leave?

You may have heard that many of us on this trek team have been gathering children's winter clothing to bring to Nepal. The kind folks at Volunteer Society Nepal www.volunteersocietynepal.org, Kathmandu Nepal have agreed to help us distribute them. It's too late to send clothes with us, I think, but you can help them directly if you'd like.
"We appreciate your willingness to help us with the children's winter clothes. We are supporting five orphanages in Kathmandu. We can distribute the clothes to the children living in different orphanages."
