Great dad, tough time

Well I'm going to swallow a big ol chunk of pride and try this out. My name is Trevor Ball, I'm from a small town in Northwest Ohio. I have a boy from a previous relationship and have a shared parenting agreement that allows me to have him half of the time. I can't go into a ton of detail because we're Bout to go to court for this case but my child's mother shows an overall lack of judgment with his well being and care. I want to be very very clear I am not looking for drama or trying to bash her. I am simply stating an opinion, those of you who are close to my family know all to well the types of situations we are faced with in dealing with the way his mother takes care of him on her time with him. I will tell you no I dont think she abuses him or intentionally hurts him but she will show up for exchanges in the middle of winter and he wont have but some shorts on and a shirt . No socks shoes or a coat or many times and hardly ever dressed anywhere near appropriately for the weather. I could list many details but I'm sure she will see this somehow and I'm obviously not going to clue her into all the key elements of the upcoming case . 
           Well back a few weeks ago I made the decision not to  return him to his mother because she was couch hopping and wasn't giving him his medicine so I kept him and filed some motions in court on my own without a lawyer to try to be granted custody of him because lawyers are expensive and I am currently trying to get a heart condition that I was born with accurately diagnosed and treated. Once I did this my sons mother got a lawyer and is now trying to have her lawyer fees and court costs assesed to me as well as have me put in jail for contempt of court.She also filed to have our shared parenting agreement dismissed and to have full custody of him and this is not in his best interest AT ALL, I NEED A LAWYER . I did violate the courts order for shared parenting in keeping him but did so because I am looking out for my boy. This heart condition is called wolf Parkinson's white syndrome and  makes your heart beat very rapidly and causes alot of different issues. I have had two surgery's and am glad to report that my extra pathways have been eliminated but they think I have an issue with my nerves from my brain telling my heart what to do.This causes episodes of heart beats from high 30s to the 230s, a chest pain that takes your breath away, dizziness , and extreme fatigue. In dealing with this it has caused alot of hospital visits and alot of missed days from work for dr appointments, surgery's and recovery time and being sent home from work after an episode or going straight to the Emergency room from work. That's obviously caused a financial strain on my family and I,as much as I hate to say it. I'm not asking for the help because of the heart deal. Its life and I guess that's just how it goes. I'm asking for help because it's been pretty dang hard to just stay afloat let alone put out 2500 dollars, 2k for a retainer and 500 deposit for a guardian ad litem.I dont want people to think I am just looking for a hand me out as I work my butt off on days I'm not experiencing symptoms from this condition.I am Also trying to sell my truck to fund this. My first hearing for my boy is October 4th and I'm hoping to hire a lawyer by then Thanks for reading if you can't help I totally understand , if you could share this that would be very helpful.
