Government Sachs: Drain the Swamp

President-elect Trump won under a populist message to “drain the swamp” and rid Washington of the political and financial elites, whom he claimed were “getting away with murder” while “making a tremendous amount of money.” Yet, following his victory, Goldman Sachs now not only has an open door to the government, they are the government.
From the appointment of Steve Bannon (Chief Strategist) to Steve Mnuchin (Treasury Secretary) to Gary Cohn (National Economic Council Director) and most recently, Jay Clayton (SEC Chairman), we now have the richest cabinet in the history of the United States government. Under this Goldman regime, our policies will be dictated by the very same people that created the foreclosure crisis. They will continue to destroy our jobs, evict our families, criminalize our bodies and profit from incarceration, and put our land and water at risk.
We are overdue to make Goldman pay. In order to make that clear, the very communities who suffered - and will suffer - the most under the Goldman oligarchy will take over their offices and demand they do right by the communities they destroyed.
On Tuesday, January 17th, we will be camping outside its office until Inauguration Day to drain the swamp ourselves. By being there, we will illuminate Goldman Sachs as well as its investment ties that are controlling the government; establish a sustained site of resistance; and spur other encampment sites nationwide.
