Gordon Stewart InBalance Fundraising for Kenya

Dear Friends and Family,
Along with other students and staff from my boarding school, I will be traveling to Nairobi, Kenya. I will be going from January 29 – February 19, 2019. While in Kenya, our trip will be committed to service work at a school in the Mitaboni village as well as at an orphanage .
Our service project will be to help the impoverished kids who can’t afford to pay the education fee, which is approximately 50 USD per year. Currently, they have classrooms which are constructed of corragated metal which is extremely hot and unhealthy. In order to provide these kids with a better educational environment, our group will build 3 classrooms. When we arrive in Mitaboni, we will work as helpers to build walls, mix cement, fill dirt, and carry stone and mortar.
We will also be volunteering at a local orphanage. I'm excited to be part of this work, and I believe this trip will be a life-changing experience for children in need and for me.
My boarding school has partnered with Rustic Volunteer, an organization dedicated to helping those in need. They sustain orphanages on three continents around the world, providing children with basic needs, such as food, water, shelter, immunizations, and education. Poverty, abuse, AIDs, and alcoholism have left many children in Kenya without families, depriving them of the parental love, support, and care they need. Rustic Volunteer projects aspire to change the situation of these children by providing caring and nurturing volunteers to work and play with them.
Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated as our work with these children can help provide them with a safe, healthy educational environment.
