GOLDBOOTS GIFTS TOY DRIVE

The Brothers of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. are organizing their 8th annual GOLDBOOTS GIFTS campaign assisting families in need during the holiday season.  This year, we would like to conduct a toy drive for the young scholars of the Camden City School District  (Pre K – 4th grade).

In the past we have serviced and provided toys for several families throughout Camden City.  We primarily focus on children between the ages of 3 -10 years old. 

GOLDBOOTS GIFTS originated from our beloved and fallen brother Edwin “Goldboot” DeVaughn.  He was a pillar in the community and on the front lines of providing a positive outlook and path for young people.  He also was the band director of the world-famous Camden Panthers Marching Band.  He passed away in August 2012.  Although he is gone, his legacy and memory lives on through this endeavor.

This year the following Chapters of Omega Psi Fraternity Inc., Nu Nu Chapter of Burlington County, Chi Upsilon Chapter of Camden, NJ, Phi Kappa Chapter of Rowan University, Phi Upsilon Chapter of Jersey Shore/ Monmouth University and Beta Iota Iota Chapter of Bridgeton, NJ will provide approximately 300 toys for the young scholars of Camden City.  This will hopefully bring a smile to some people and uplift a community during the holiday season.  

We plan to conduct the toy drive on Wednesday December 23rd (Due to Covid19 we will update distribution site and time soon).

Our enthusiasm and energy for servicing young people in the South Jersey area has been tremendous during this holiday season.
