Giving back to the ultimate Giver

Patty, an incredibly generous person and Beto supporter, needs our help.

Despite weathering very difficult circumstances, Patty Bates-Ballard cheered on Beto and the volunteers and voters who used her house as a pop-up office this fall.

Patty, an incredibly generous single mother of two sons, one of whom is severely disabled, lost the love of her life, Drew, this past summer. This loss came on top of her son Kory’s hospitalization last year, causing emotional and financial stress. She now has an expensive car repair added to her load. We'd like to help Patty reduce her debt and fix her car. Our Goal is to raise $21,800.

Despite her challenges, Patty maintained a can-do attitude and opened her home September through the November 6 election to dozens of Beto volunteers. Dedicating the pop-up office to Drew’s memory, Patty’s welcomed and hosted Beto volunteers 9 hours a day as she took care of her two sons and ran her small business that supports non-profit organizations.

Patty also promoted the office on social media, hosted two phone banks, trained several volunteers, knocked on doors, and managed the office on election day.

Only a portion of her son Kory’s medical needs are covered by insurance. Last year, her business suffered a setback, and this summer she lost many work hours dealing with Drew’s death. Patty’s mounting debts were reaching a critical stage.

Yet, Patty continued to share what ever she could with the Beto volunteers. Patty also kept her positive can-do attitude and her care for others.

A few days ago, the final straw hit. The braking system on Patty’s 2003 Toyota 4Runner failed. She needs the vehicle to take her sons to the doctor, events, church, and school, and to attend business meetings. The repair job is expensive and beyond her budget.

A group of Beto supporters want to help Patty pay for her car repairs and ease her debt situation. We believe Patty is the example of what a real caring American can be, and that she deserves our support.

On behalf of Patty and her two children, please contribute what you can afford to help this little family get back on solid ground.

Thank You.
