Gigi's Medical Fundraiser

In November 2012, my mother was working out at home when she suddenly collasped to the floor and hit her head. My mom has always been healthy so we thought it was just a one time incidenet. Over the next few months her weakness in her legs got progessively worse. It got to the point she could no longer use her muscles to pick herself up out of a chair. Her muscle weakness eventually started to spread to her arms and throat. Something as simple as eating became a tough task for her. After going to multiple referrals she was eventually referred to Vanderbilt to seek answers. They could not come to any definitive conclusions and she was told she had to just live with her condition. The only diagnosis we received was that it was likely an autoimmune disease. A couple more years went by and her condition seemed to worsen. She finally seeked another referral locally to UAB.







At UAB her doctor couldn't give her a diagnosis either but he started her started her on infusion therapy.  The infusion therapy seemed to help her gain some strength but the treatments are extremely expensive.  I'm hoping to raise money to help my mom pay her medical bills. I want to help my mom however I can. My mom is a strong woman and she will keep fighting. Thank you and God Bless
