Football Volunteering in Ghana

Hi guys, I am professional sports coach working with two leading sports coaching companies in the North West, Beth Tweddle's Gymnastics and Fun 1st Football. I am a Sport Development and PE graduate looking to use my knowledge of Sport Development to enhance the quality of life for Ghanaian children with disadvantage backgrounds. As a primary school sports coach also working in the private sector, I will be using the 6 weeks (HOLIDAY'S) as a opportunity to give back to those less fortunate as us, while using this opportunity to develop on a personal and professional level. I would really appreciate if you took the time read about the project and I would be very grateful if you would donate what you can to help me reach my goal!
The aim of this project is to spend 4 weeks volunteering as a Football Coach in Accra the capital of Ghana (20th July - 19th August 2019). I will be working alongside Sporting Opportunities, which is a well established organisation, whom provide sporting opportunities to hundreds of less fortunate communities throughout the world (Ghana, St. Lucia, Argentina, Costa Rica, Ecuador, China, India, Thailand, Fiji and many more). Why Ghana?
Sporting Opportunities offer a great range of coaching at grassroots level football, I will be delivering fun filled recreational sessions to local youth teams. Without this organisation an the willing volunteers, these teams would not otherwise be exposed to certain things, we and children in the UK sometimes take for granted. Such as, basic equipment and structured coaching session, delivered by well experienced qualified coaches.
Sporting Opportunities have managed to build a great relationship with the elite football academies in Accra, and I will help coach and develop the football talent in some of Ghana’s top youth football players.
Over the recent years, Ghana has shown a real emergence as a African footballing giant. With consecutive successful FIFA World Cup performances, and even more success at international level for both U20 and U17 Ghanaian national teams, couple this with an abundance of raw talent and a football mad nation, the future of Ghanaian football is certainly looking bright and I would certainly love if you help me contribute to this a this football crazy country!

As well as volunteering for a month I will be doing a half marathon , walking Snowden and doing the Coast to Coast bike ride.

What your contribution will cover?
£1000 - £250 per/week
- Donation
Part of your fee maybe used to buy decent equipment for the project and community you work with. We also encourage you to bring any extra equipment that you are happy to give away but this will need to fall within your personal weight allowance with the airline you travel with.
- Accommodation
Communal House; Basic but comfortable; Dormitory style rooms (4-10 people per room); Shared toilets and showers.
- Food
3 meals a day; Basic but nutritious local foods. Airport Pick-up Included on arrival date.
- Training
Full project induction and local orientation given on arrival.
- Support
Pre-departure help and advice; Local in-country team; 24 hour emergency support.

Yellow Fever Malaria Jab - £60
Insurance - £80
CRB/Police Check - £50
