Helping Hands

Many kids rely on breakfast and lunch at school.  When school is not in session families can experience a 'food gap'.  Helping Hands was originally founded to provide a 'holiday meal' for families.  We have since evolved and now provide pantry staples and multiple meals to help bridge the gap.
     This year we have 30 Maplewood families that need our help.  The funds we collect through this fundraiser are used to purchase food items that may not have been donated, as well as Fred Meyer gift cards so families can purchase items specific to their families' needs.
     Helping Hands is near and dear to my heart because I believe no child should ever go hungry.  The sheer relief and gratitude we see on our families faces when they receive the gift of food is beyond words.  Our Maplewood community is something special and you all make this possible.  'Thank you' doesn't begin to express my appreciation.
     We will be distributing our gifts December 13th so all funds need to be collected by December 11th- this gives us 11 full days to pull this off.  Let's do this Maplewood!
