I am 37 years old, married, have one son and three step kids. I have 19 years in the Army and have deployed twice. I have Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) wich is a precurser to Accute Myloid Lukimea. I am a fighter.
I recognize that many people ask for help with medical bills when fighting cancer. I will be the first to admit that I have insurance, so the medical bills are on me. Where I am asking for help is with travel and lodging.
During the first four months of my chemo, I will drive about 2,000 miles a month going to and from doctor appointments.
Once my transplant starts, I am required to live near the hospital for 110-120 days. This is an expense in excess of $10,000.
The funds that I collect will go towards these expenses. If there is money left over at the end, I will be completely honest with you. My husband and I will use it as a down payment on a cruise to Alaska.
