This is a time sensitive initiative!
"And the likeness of those who spend their wealth seeking Allah's Pleasure while they in their own selves are sure and certain that Allah will reward them (for their spending in His Cause), is the likeness of a garden on a height; heavy rain falls on it and it doubles its yield of harvest. What is an Imamage?
An Imamage is the Islamic equivalent to a parsonage. It is a masjid owned dwelling used to house an Imam, hence the word Imam-age.
Do other communities have similar investments?
Yes, in fact it's quite normal. Numerous institutions and communities of our size in America provide suitable housing for their director or religious leadership while they serve the community.
How will this benefit our community?
By investing in the Imamage project NOW, we will:
1. Lower our monthly fixed expenses spent on salary/rent.
2. Provide GCLEA's Imam/Director a safe and stable dwelling in close proximity to the center for the duration of his tenure to provide continuity in services.
3. Possess an investment property which will serve as a great asset for our community in the years to come.
Why should I contribute to this project?
The Imamage project is a sadaqah jariyah (continuous charity) opportunity. It is our hope that whatever good work the GCLEA Imam/Director does while serving the community, the supporters of this project will share in the reward and continue to do so into the future as the property houses others who serve our community.
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "When a man dies, his deeds come to an end, except for three: continuous charity, knowledge by which people derive benefit, pious son who prays for him." [Sahih Muslim]
