Local Homeschooling Growing Needs
Mission Statement of Guilford Christian Academy :
Being led of the Lord to start Guilford Christian Academy in 2002, my wife Patricia and I, James White, have filed all the appropriate paperwork to the state of Maine. It is our desire to assist parents and their children in furthering their education by providing them a means by which to homeschool in a legal manner.
It is our belief that God has provided in his Word, the Bible, all necessary and prudent direction in training children. His Word says:
And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. (Deuteronomy 6:5-7), and The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. (Psalms 111:10)
We offer to our families any assistance that we can possibly give them through our experiences in Homeschooling the past several years. We will provide students with a diploma at the end of their studies at a high school level. However, we denounce a diploma as the goal to achieve. Instead, we feel that it is much more appropriate that the parent and child alike desire that wisdom be their goal; wisdom being the ability to utilize knowledge with discernment and prudence. It is our prayer that by seeking wisdom our students will be able to achieve to the extent of their potential throughout their life.

If you would like to join us in our commitment to help families start, continue and finish in their homeschooling. Please consider a donation to help us rent a little office space that we will use to further serve these families and children who will be future leaders in our communities.
We have gotten two working older laptops repaired to use for future classes that will require internet or computer use. The struggle right now is the internet connection. We have permission to use the building managers internet but it is very spotty and weak for us upstairs and at the other end of the building.
We would like to get our own service so that we have a stronger faster connection. The cost will be about $50 per month and we are just not able to afford that at this time. We make enough for the lease but not much more. We have been receiving some donations of curriculum for the lending library and we have someone that is going to be looking for some more laptops to put in for the upcoming classes.
Would you like to help with this need? Please consider a donation for our monthly internet connection. If we get enough for a year of service I will get it connected but we cannot afford to do it without your help.
Support homeschoolers in the state of Maine! Thank you.
We have 4 laptops now for students and parents to use and to be used for workshops and classes.
We would like to have more curriculum to offer but it will come.
If you make a donation by January 29th all of that donation will go towards purchasing some courses for use from http://www.thegreatcourses.com/tgc/courses/specialoffer?sa=gen95. They are having a great sale right now with lots of options. Thank you for your contribution!
