Gaga Pit for Better Beginnings/First Presbyterian

My name is Brendan and I am beginning to work on my Eagle Scout Service project. I am currently 16 years old and the Senior Patrol Leader for BSA Troop 59 in Hightstown. I am currently a Sophomore in High School and have been an active Scout since 1st grade. I am also a Confirmed member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hightstown.
I will be building a Gaga Pit (playground equipment) for the First Presbyterian Church of Hightstown and adjacent Better Beginnings Day Care. It will provide needed playground equipment for both church youth groups and the day care that regularly meet at the facility throughout the year.
Gaga is a variant of dodge ball that is played in a gaga "pit". The game combines dodging, gently striking , running, and jumping, with the objective of being the last person standing. Players gently hit the rubber ball at each other with their hands, and are eliminated if the ball strikes them on or below the knee.
I learned how much fun this game was while attending summer camp for many years. Gaga games were a highlight of each day. I feel strongly that this game will encourage physical activity in a fun and safe environment.

The Gaga pit will also have a sign for "game rules" and also a small plaque attached to commemorate this project.
I hope to raise needed money for the project by late Spring/Early Summer. I plan to begin building the Gaga pit in Summer 2019 in the hopes when school is back in session all the children of the day care and the youth groups can enjoy!
