Amy Gossett Medical & Burial Fund

Amy was diagnosed with Hodgkin's when she was 17. Her treatment included 50 rounds of radiation. The radiation was successful in curing her cancer but twenty years later the doctors discovered that it had destroyed her heart and lungs. On July 28, 2014, she received two mechanical heart valves and a third valve was repaired. Surgery was successful but complications the next day caused her liver and kidneys to shut down. She spent several weeks in the ICU  then went to NHC for rehab and dialysis. June 2015, the doctors realized all three of the valves were again leaking. She also developed hemolytic anemia which is an auto-immune disorder where your red blood cells destroy themselves. All of this took a toll on her body. She was waiting for a heart and lung transplant when God decided she had endured enough. With her hands raised toward heaven, she received her new body at 9:20 a.m. on October 14th, 2015. She was only 37 years old.

Amy left behind a loving husband, three teenage children, and a one week old grandbaby.  The family did not have life insurance to cover the funeral or burial expenses and over the past year have incurred enormous medical bills.  Her husband Rockey, who stood by her side throughout it all, would never ask for help, so that is why I am asking for the family.  So many of you asked if there was a fund set up because you would like to help.  Hopefully we can raise enough to cover at least the funeral and burial.
