The FSU Flute Ensemble (Raines Ensemble) has been invited to perform at this year's NFA Convention in Washington DC! We will be giving the world premiere of "Seven Memories" by composer Robert Raines. 

The Raines Ensemble is comprised of current Florida State University flute students as well as alumni of the studio. They frequently premier new works for flute ensemble, and enjoy a variety of variety of repertoire. The ensemble is led by Eva Amsler.

Eva Amsler is professor of flute at Florida State Univ. She has toured Europe, the U.S., South America, and the Far East. She was a member of the St. Gallen Symphony Orchestra and professor at the Conservatory Feldkirch. Her teachers include A. Nicolet and G. Rumpel.

Alyssa Borell is currently pursuing a Master of Music at Florida State University under Eva Amsler. She previously graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance from Ball State University. Ms. Borell's previous teachers include Mihoko Watanabe and Valerie Watts.

Olivia Boatman is working on a Doctorate of Music in flute performance at Florida State University. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education at Mississippi State University and a Master of Music from Arkansas State University. She has studied with Carol Dale, Lana Johns, Joe Bonner, and Eva Amsler.

In 2013, Laura Clapper was an NFA Masterclass and PMTA Young Artist Woodwind Competition winner, placing second at the MTNA division level. She holds music and French degrees from Penn State and is pursuing a DM at Florida State. Her teachers include Eva Amsler, Naomi Seidman, and Eleanor Armstrong.

Elyse Davis, native of Prescott, Arizona, is currently pursuing her master's degree in flute performance at Florida State University. Ms. Davis earned her Bachelor of Music in flute performance from the University of Arizona, and her primary instructors include Eva Amsler and Brian Luce.

Kallie Rogers is a Doctoral Candidate and Teaching Assistant for the flute studio at Florida State University. She holds degrees from Western Kentucky University (B.M.) and Middle Tennessee State University (M.M.). Her teachers include Eva Amsler, Deanna Little, and Heidi Pintner-Álvarez.

Vivianne Asturizaga graduated from the Natl. Conservatory in Bolivia where she organizes flute conventions and served as flutist of the Natl. Symphony. She obtained masters in Flute performance under Eva Amsler, and Arts Administration at FSU, where she now studies for her MA in Spanish Linguistics.

Constance Petersen is a second year master's student at FSU, where she studies flute with Eva Amsler. From youth symphony on up, she has always particularly enjoyed orchestral playing and piccolo.

Sarah Jane Young served as Principal Flute in the Amman Symphony & Professor of Flute at the National Music Conservatory, 2010-11. She performs with the Tallahassee & Pensacola Symphonies. She is a founding member for chamber ensembles What is Noise, Duo Velocipede, Coreopsis Quintet, & Traverso Colore.

Jenna Taylor is a senior performance major at Florida State Univ. where she studies with Eva Amsler. She was a finalist in the FSU Young Artist Concerto Competition, as well as the Florida Flute Association College Young Artist Competition. She currently performs with the University Symphony Orchestra.

Our goal is to raise enough money to take nine flutists to DC, covering the cost of transportation, convention fees, and room/board while at the convention. Any donation you could make to help us meet our goal is GREATLY appreciated!
