Friendswood, TX Flag Retirement Box

My name is Daniel Morgan and I am a Life Scout from Friendswood, TX.  For my Boy Scout Eagle Project, I will purchase and install an American flag collection box where locals can deposit their old American flags that should no longer be flown due to age or condition.  There is currently no American flag collection box in Friendswood. My Boy Scout Troop will also provide a service to the community in collecting the flags from the box on a regular basis and properly disposing of the old flags in our official flag retirement ceremonies. 

The City of Friendswood has approved the installation of the box outside the back corner of City Hall (see picture of the location below).   I am excited about this project because as a Boy Scout and the son of an active duty military officer, I have  learned how important it is to respect our American flag, both when it is flying and when it is retired. If you feel the same way and would like to have a convenient and reverent way to dispose of your worn out flags, please consider donating to my project.  

The money raised will be used to  purchase an outdoor rated flag retirement collection box, plus the supplies and skilled labor needed to pour the concrete slab the box will sit on. I hope to install the box by the spring of 2019.  Please donate to the funding of my Eagle Project, should you feel led.  Any additional funds raised, over and above the cost of the project, will be donated to the City of Friendswood for ongoing maintenance of the outside area where the box is located and maintenance of the box itself.
