James and I are needing to swallow our pride and let you, our friends, family and acquaintances know that we are needing your prayers and financial help.
On November 19th, 2015 I lost primary care and control custody of our three daughters to their biological father, with the courts giving him 50% custody.
Along with losing custody, the courts have imputed a full time minimum wage against me of $22,880/year, cut the girls' child support by $624.34/month and increased my vehicle/travel expenses by over $560/month. (The increase in expenses is due to my having to pickup and/or drop off the girls 4 days per week to schools outside of our catchment area approximately 30 mins away)
Due to the school schedule, I am unable to work the extra hours previously afforded to me by my current employer and am unable to replace the massive cut. I have started a dog training course thru an online correspondence school to be able to work flexible hours on my own at home.
In January of this year, we were hit with yet another blow, as James was laid off for 3 months. During this time we have accumulated some debt that we are unable to settle due to low income. James is currently looking for additional employment with no luck as of yet.
I am and have been very good at budgeting and keeping track of finances, but while we are able to pay current expenses we cannot pay down any of the debt that has accumulated over the last 12 months.
Here is a breakdown of our debt.
$4500 MasterCard
$4000 Approximate balance owing on rent of our home.
$3000 Approximate cost of lawyers fees to new lawyer.
$800 Approximate Rogers Cell Phone Bill
$563 Manitoba Hydro Bill.
$287 Correspondence Course for Laura
We are also planning on buying another car as James' is on it's last leg, we will then be using his current car for parts should the 'newer' one need.
1997 Toyota Corolla Approximately $3000-$5000
As soon as we are able, we will be buying a used car and selling our van so that the children and I will have a safe yet affordable way to get to school.
While we completely understand if you are unable to help us financially, we do ask that you keep us in your prayers.
I will give updates as the finances are used so that you know how we are doing.
