ROBOBIBB GOES TO WORLDS!!!!!

RoboBibb, FRC Team 4941, is comprised of students in the Bibb County (GA) school system. We compete through the FIRST Robot Challenge (FRC) program and just being honest, it's expensive. Our county is comprised of students who all qualify for free and reduced lunches through the Title 1 program.
These amazing kids competed at the Peachtree District event at UGA this past weekend. They won the entire event in convincing fashion and are currently ranked as the number one FRC team in the state of Georgia! The team has earned the right to compete at the World Championship event in Houston, TX which starts next Wednesday, April 19.
Our trip to Houston will be an expensive endeavor. Donor/sponsor money will be used to fund competition costs (including hotel, travel, and uniform costs) as well as paying registration fees ($5000 for the event). We will be taking 14 students to this event. It will cost approximately $600 per student to fund this event. Please consider that amount in your giving.
I have been a robotics coach for over 10 years now and I can assure you that the lessons learned in building and programming a robot for competition simply don't happen in most classrooms. There is energy, excitement, common purpose, and critical thinking that gives our students a rare educational opportunity. It is both an exhilarating and an exhausting endeavor but I am continually grateful to have the opportunity to be involved.
Should you choose to contribute to this need, of course we will be grateful. There are many facets to a robotics program and it will be awesome to not have to worry about one of those aspects: money.
