No Pride in Detention or Turnbull!
Last year, we were the largest float at Mardi Gras in 2017. In 2016 our opposition to Shorten's racism in the last parade made it into international news and put real pressure on the government. We made it into the news again when CAAH and the Mardi Gras membership called for Turnbull to no longer be invited to Mardi Gras.
But building a float with 200+ people isn't cheap. We need t-shirts, money for fees and materials.
We need your support.
The major parties still enforce a policy of border control that sees LGBTIQIA refugees locked into offshore detention camps where their sexuality, gender identity, and intersex status is often criminalised.
This policy also sees those seeking asylum on the basis of fleeing a country where their identity is criminalised, cruelly turned away.
After over a decade of protest, we finally won marriage rights. But homophobia and transphobia live on: safe schools is still under attack and Christensen, Bernardi and Abetz want to peel back anti-discrimination laws.
Please help us make this happen, and march with us as well!
