Lauren's Unique Piano Performance

Hi - reaching out for support in creating a special opportunity for Lauren, one of my piano students - the talented, hard-working girl in the photo, & she's on track for college studies & a career in music.

I'm Deborah, her teacher - & I love guiding my students in their growth as pianists & as people, helping them to reach & expand their potential, & showing them how to do that which they thought was impossible while feeling good about themselves & their work. That's what this campaign is about for Lauren.

The money will be used to hire a string quartet (2 violins, viola & 'cello, just fyi) to back her up in performing a movement of a Mozart Piano Concerto in a free public concert. The Quartet will play a downsized version of the orchestra part while Lauren plays the solo part. This will give her a unique performance opportunity - one that will expand her horizons, prepare her solidly for an upcoming piano concerto competition, & allow her to be more fully prepared for college scholarship auditions next year. 

The concert is November 15, 2015, & I'd like to have the funds available to pay the four musicians that day. 

For me, this represents taking what I can do for Lauren & her education to a whole new level. It means stepping out of the limits of no funding & into possibility  - into giving her far more, with your help, than I can do on my own. It also gives me the opportunity of showing Lauren through this campaign how she can think outside the box, draw on team support for those in her life, & accomplish more through community.

This will be the fulfillment of a double dream for me - that of reaching & expanding my own potential as a teacher, & of making a unique & beautiful contribution to Lauren & to my community with this concert. I will be infinitely grateful for your support & generosity. (I'm new to GoFundMe, & I'm hooked. After I got this campaign going, I went back to donate to another campaign!)
