Food Forest: Permaculture in Africa

I would like to start up a big Food Forest in sub-Sahara Africa.

Would you please like to help me fund a project that would do some real good in this world?
Agriculture the way we see it now - and the way we have been looking at it for 10.000 years - is starting to look really outdated with the problems we are facing today in terms of the limitations of our planet.
Permaculture offers a proven (you can do a quick google search, but in short: you produce food in a system that resembles the local natural systems as much as possible) more productive - more sustainable - less intensive - more ecological way of producing food, with which you don't need any heavy machinery, chemical fertilisers or insecticides!
It's really that simple! And it can basically work everywhere on any scale! And off course, I recommend you all to try it with the means (garden/balcony/rooftop) you have!!!
But for me, an agro- and biotechnologies bachelor student, this is a serious matter, and I would like to combine it with my life-long dream of making a real difference!
I would like to start up a big, commercially valid, Food Forest in sub-Sahara Africa.
Right now many food forests of this kind are small forests, mainly to feed the owners with maybe some small commercial production. I would like to take this idea to a bigger scale, so it can show a part of the food industries in the right direction in terms of food sustainability.
To start setting this up I will need to travel and establish an output and forest site. I already have a close, personal contact who has a big site of approximately 10-12 km2 (1000-1200 hectares) in The Gambia in mind for me, where I could start (see pictures), although this is not a solid decision yet. 
Also, if sufficient funds would be donated, I would love to take this idea to multiple sites!!!
Off course all produce will be fully biological and ecologically responsible. I would like to work with local communities, giving them fair work, since I would preferably establish in rural areas.
Any input and practical help is always welcome in terms of website making, practical business advice, site input, fund raising and spreading the word (off course), ... and so on!
