FLOOD RELIEF EFFORT MALAWI

Dear Malawians and Friends of Malawi,
The organizing committee of NAMFRE (North American Malawi Flood Relief Effort) would like to ask Malawians living in North America and friends of Malawi for your generous donation towards flood victims in Malawi. Central part of Malawi has been hit hard with heavy rains causing families to lose their home, property and displaced. We had a similar successful campaign 2015. NAMFRE would like to announce that after much consideration we decided to go with a partner that is better suited to meet our goals for this campaign. We have therefore identified the non-profit groups/individuals, Second lady Mrs Mary Chilima and Hon Juliana Lunguzi as the recipient of these funds.
We will work with these individuals to ensure that relief gets to those who need it the most in a timely fashion using independent oversight structures that we have put in place. The recipient "organizations" were selected based on the following considerations:
"They must be reputable organizations/individuals with a long standing history, previous experience dealing with similar disaster issues and operational wherewithal, agreeing that funds sourced will be used to provide relief to those who are affected by this disaster and need support the most; and their willingness to provide feedback, transparency, and evaluation of their work."
We hope to provide you feedback in terms of how Second lady Mrs Mary Chilima and Hon. Juliana Lunguzi will disperse these funds as well as the impact it will have.
