Five Dollar Donation Commissions

My name is Eric "Botbook",

I'll save you the sob story, bills have caught up with me and I have been having a hard time raising money by traditional means so I turn once again turn to offering insane deals out to the internet in hopes of drumming up the needed cash! That's basically all there is to it.

If you donate at least 5$  you will receive in exchange from me own hands a character commission of one of yours, or other characters! You can ask for a sketch, line-art or colors! Bust, waist or full body! There will be very few restrictions on this (but there will be a small amount) but you can find the answers to hopefully all your questions below.

Otherwise that's basically it! Spend five dollars into the charity drive, send me an email as describe in the FAQ section below and boom! Character art!

FAQ 

Who are you?

I already told you my name! So let me just go over some more about me, I'm an artist with money problems, no big surprise there- I'm sure. Between specifically upcoming school and insurances I've had a hard time keeping up with life, despite all my hard work and so I want to prepare for the near future with even more hard work. Thus, five dollar character commissions.

How does this all work?

It's pretty straight forward, donate five dollars and then follow up by sending an email to the email listed above, if you missed the address here it is now: [email redacted]

Please state the amount you donated and the name the donation would be posted under, during the prior fundraiser commissions I had ran (as will be discussed below) I got back end information like your email address but now I need to manually collect them.

After I receive your email we can start going over the details of your character art and I will let you know where on the list you are present! 

Please make all donations as hidden from public to prevent donation sniping, where someone claims to be you.  Please try to email/ contact me within 48 hours of your donation!

There is a bit more to it though,  for a donation of any size five dollars or above, I will be obligated to complete a piece with a single character in it. However, paying more will get you two things,  the more you pay the sooner your character piece will be completed. I finish the higher payers work first then work down-ward on a first come first serve basis otherwise. If you donate five dollars but another person donates twenty five, I won't start on yours until the twenty five dollars donaters work is finished.

Please look at the next section for the other benefits of paying more. In addition please be aware that I reserve the right to ask for a different subject matter if the context of a piece may be outside of what I feel I would be able to deliver a satisfactory piece in, if I say no, it's for your sake... but I doubt this would come up!

Can I donate multiple times for multiple piece of art?
 
For any donations under Tier 4 you cannot donate multiple times for multiple pieces.


What are the restrictions on character art?

There are a few restrictions, as followed:

1) I am obligated to draw a single character to specifications given by a donater, within reasonable limits. 

Donating more may open up your options. ie: Donating 50$ and asking for two characters only in bust sketches is incredibly reasonable while donating 10$ and asking for three fullbody full colored pieces is unreasonable. These are treated on case by case.

2) I am willing to draw almost any subject matter, be it SFW or NSFW, of any fandom or personal canons. The one restriction of this is real people, I will not draw you, your friends, me or a celebrity. Additionally, when it does come to NSFW subject matter, I will expect pretty reasonable donations if you wish an extreme subject matter! Use your own common sense and due diligence for this! This is of course pay what you want, otherwise.

3) Absolutely 0 politically charged commissions of any kind. I am not here to make propaganda.

4) This is not a restriction but if you're worried about what i will and won't draw  (or what I may be capable of drawing(, it would be best to simply email me before donating to ensure we're on the same page.

If you don't understand the difference between bust, waist or fullbody character art these kinds of details will be outlined in the sent email after donation.



How do we know you'll deliver?

Well I suppose you don't, not one hundred percent.  We've all heard of those donation scams, so I don't blame your trepidation. I would say that if you're not comforted and convinced by the end of this section then please don't donate, I don't want people nervous about their donations at all!

I have ran one of these before, foremost. Around a year or so ago, I ran a gofundme under the guise of one dollar, one commission as a premise. Basically what you're seeing here but for only one dollar.  It was admittedly, frustration, scary, heart-warming, and awesome. A personal very important to me had gotten into a car accident and needed medical bills paid and so, in a panic and with great determination I set up the charity and offered ludicrous prices for art pieces. The donations came in for several weeks and I had... as you can imagine... a LOT of art to draw. I actually wish I grabbed some testimonials at the time so projects like these would have more credibility. Here I am again, but I am raising the money for myself instead of someone stuck up in the hospital. Yay?

Nonetheless, one of the things I pride myself on is leaving customers happy, and while anyone donating won't actually be a 'customer' I would absolutely loathe the idea of leaving any of you kind enough to throw your hard earned money my way with a sour taste in your mouth. I will fulfill my obligations to the best of my abilities and I will work my hardest to make you happy. 

What I ask for in exchange is your reasonable cooperation, anyone who is connected to an art community knows the horror stories of people collecting their finished pieces and demanding refunds, please please don't be that person.

All of that said, please don't donate if you don't have any extra capital, or are still nervous about this being a scam.

How long will my character art take? + How long will this gofundme be open for?

It depends how much you paid, and what you asked for? There is no time limit to how long it will take for me to finish a given piece, however, from my previous campaign, no one waited much longer than two weeks or so- and didn't go very long without any correspondence. Even if you're on the low tier of donaters, five dollars, don't be afraid at all to come check on the status of work.

This Gofundme will be open until one of the following conditions are met:

1) I reach the end goal of 2000$ donations

2) The Date Becomes July 23rd, 2018

3) I get overwhelmed by the sheer number of donations!

How will the money be used?

Pretty simply! The money will be used for me! You're donating to me directly for the purposes of helping me pay for the costs of living and insurances (not going to lie a large chunk of this is to help me with car insurance.)

Getting to 1000$ donated will leave me in an okay state, where I could probably manage with a lot of careful saving for at least a little while.

Getting to 2000$ donated will leave me in a pretty comfortable state! This will help me manage all my things much more comfortably and get a head start on my foreseeable plans.
