Fisher Branch Park / Greenspace

The Fisher Branch Monument Park / Greenspace area committee is seeking donations towards this project to enhance our community and the entrance to the Fisher Branch & District Area.  To date we have a brick fundraiser in place and have been applying for grants to make our dream for our area a reality.   We have worked with a landscape architect to formulate our plan for the area and now have completed landscape and construction drawings.  This park area will provide an opportunity to preserve our rural character, conserve natural land, create a better quality of life for residents and will raise awareness of our local area.  Economic benefits include local employment opportunities for the project, attracting tourist traffic and will aid in sustaining a vibrant rural community. For our students, it will provide a space for them to enjoy in and outside of school and could be utilized as an agricultural learning area.  For our seniors, it will provide them with a space to garden and enjoy as an outing.  For our families, it will provide a space for a farmers market and many other social events.  We believe that this area is something our area could greatly benefit from and hope that we can all work together to make this dream a reality.

The area will feature a commemorative brick walkway with engraved stones, community gardens, picnic area with a pavillion.   Our town monument will be the feature of the area.  

We will be working on the area in stages as soon as funds are available for each phase of the project.  This year we would like to see the driveway area and some of the bricks laid, that being said if we should secure more funds we would progress more quickly.  Our committee will be sending out tenders to our area shortly for the driveway construction.
