First State Update is about to take it to the next level. All of you that enjoy the stories we post and the real-time news we provide, this is your chance to help us improve how you get your news and local event information.
It Happened So Fast
When we started in July of 2016 we knew we were onto something. From the start our traffic levels far exceeded what we had planned on. Our plans called for a slow incremental building of our readership base. That didn't happen. Our readership exploded. Our five-year plan happened in only 10 months.
The stories we post have obviously struck a nerve with Delawareans. The hundreds of thousands of monthly readers we receive now depend on FirstStateUpdate.com for local news that affects them and their community.
Gathering the news and community happenings is a labor-intensive process and requires a lot of resources.
As we expand we’ll be:
Upgrading our equipment and technology
Expanding our base coverage area
Upgrading our production, communications and transportation resources
Advertising and promoting the site
Expanding our sales procedures and paying more expenses
We’ll also be expanding our delivery methods
So, as we improve how we bring Delaware the news we’d like to give you a chance to weigh in. That’s right you can be a part of helping us expand. A small donation by just a portion of our readers will allow us to implement our growth plans more than four years ahead of schedule.

We never had plans to create a gofundme page for our expansion, but when our traffic caught fire we asked ourselves why not? The thought is our readers are Internet savvy.
