Gender Critical Professionals

We are a group of professionals concerned about the trend toward medical intervention for gender dysphoric youth which is going largely unquestioned in the mainstream media. 

Our concern is with medical transition for children and youth. We feel that unnecessary surgeries and/or hormonal treatments which have not been proven safe in the long-term represent significant risks for young people. Such treatments can result in permanent sterilization of a child or young person. 

We are working together quietly to bring more awareness to the ethical issues related to the treatment of gender dysphoric youth and expand the conversation around other ways to support them. 

All of us working on this are donating our time, often at considerable personal cost. We are seeking to raise funds to allow us to do more -- more research, more writing, more advocacy. Funds may be used to offset travel costs, administrative costs, and legal fees. 

Trans activists are well funded. Those of us working to create a wider dialogue about how best to support gender nonconforming youth are not. Your contribution will help us continue to do this work. No donation is too small. Thank you.
