Pontypridd Schools head to Poland

Pontypridd schools is a self funded, volunteered run district rugby program that provides opportunities for school children to excel through the medium of rugby on and off the pitch. 

Pontypridd schools work with pupils from the age of 15 from 7 secondary schools providing various training camps, individual 1 to 1 player sessions, position specific master classes, and exposure to professional rugby environments, alongside participating in a highly competitive highly successful Dewar Shield tournament.

To provide such an extensive program we rely on the generosity of the local community and businesses alike, and fundraising events.

This year we are planning to take the boys to a tour of Poland in July where they will take part in a tournament competing against other teams from different countries as well as attend planned educational trips such as visiting Auschwitz to provide the boys a humbling lifetime opportunity, to experience new things and extend their education through rugby together as a team.

The boys have already completed their Cyclothon in Pontypridd Town Centre on the 2nd April but are now looking ahead to their next fundraiser as they join forces with team sponsor Pacific Fitness Community Leisure as we hold a "Ponty Schools Family Fitness Open Day".  This will be held on Saturday 28th May from 10am - 2pm.  Pontypridd schools players are inviting everyone to take part in their classes including Spinning, Boxercise and Caz-fit.
