Ferry Hill Day Camp & Community Center

Hi everyone,

I hope this email finds you well and you all have a Happy St. Patrick's Day!

The reason why I am emailing you today is because the property that we run our inclusion camp from is hours away from being sold. While we will have our lease through the end of the year, the YWCA Cambridge has had a cash offer of $850k.

We were in the process of negotiating with them and while not finalized, what we needed was more time. We were able to raise $535k, but they did not accept a $340k deferred loan to us.

So, with just a few hours away, I am reaching out to you with my heart, asking for your support to us.

Some of you have not heard from me for years, but we have either worked together professionally & have similar goals for our clients and children: to have a place that there is full acceptance and understanding. Where everyone is accepted as they are and are receiving universal guidance/teaching.

While we will continue to run a camp somewhere, the reason why my heart reaches out is because the property factors into our success with camp. Many families discuss that their children thrive there and are GENERALIZING and MAINTAINING their skills being taught.

Some of you that I'm reaching out to today have experience with your child's self esteem and emotional growth, whether it was because they created treasured memories with camp friends or just felt accepted by staff and fellow campers.

Normally, I am not one to reach out and feel like a bother, but my heart trumps my head today. This property brings part of that butterfly effect of our camp and why our campers do well there and find confidence and happiness.

For those that have not been there, it is located on the North River salt marsh and is a small enough campus that you can navigate with minimal support. Please come see it: 76 Ferry Hill Rd. Marshfield, go to our Facebook page, or I can send you pictures.

Year after year, the staff returns. Jill, our Camp Director, has been here since she was 4 years old. I went there as a child and got married there. It's a re-occurring theme with staff: it's like coming home for kids and staff.

What I need help with in these final hours is:

1. Ideally, a reply that says "Amy, you wonderful human, we will donate $340k to you. Good luck!"
2. "Amy, we will provide you with a deferred loan to reach back to the YWCA Cambridge and say you've got the funding. Have your finance Board member reach out."
3. I cannot afford $340k, but I can donate/loan you xxx amount.
4. I cannot afford anything but forward this email to more people and perhaps through the will of all that is right, you will find a donor. May the luck of St. Patrick be on your side.

Thank you for even taking the time to read this & even consider how you can help. I really, to my core, appreciate your support.

Take care and Happy Camping,

Amy
