Winterize Standing Rock

Standing Rock needs our Help!  We are organizing a team of Wisconsinites with specific skills to support our Native brothers and sisters of Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in defense of our sacred mother earth.  Our future generations depend on us.  

We are organizing with folks already at the front lines and are responding to direct asks for particularly necessary materials.  Winter has hit the North Dakota Plains and as the fight against corporate destruction of our one shared earth, our goal is to support the building of winterized shelters to ensure the ability of the Protectors to remain as the weather turns and the mercury drops.  While we are seeking in kind donations of winter clothes and camp gear, woodstoves, and fuel for camp stoves, we are making a STRONG ask for money donations to support the purchase of building supplies.  We will be making purchases of dimensional lumber, nails, bolts, corrugated aluminium, 4x8 sheeting, as well as fire brick for the construction of high-efficiency rocket stoves for heat and cooking.  We are bringing our own tools so as to make the most possible impact of any money donations.  We have set our goal for $10,000 and will use any amount earned for the purchase of as many materials as money affords. 

This project has been specifically identified as necessary for a prolonged stand through the winter months by tribal elders at the front line.

The group that is forming around this action is honored to have been called upon to serve in this specified manner, and we, in turn, are endlessly indebted to you for making this happen, financially, for us.

We will be departing from Waukesha County on December 3 and intend on staying until the buildings funded by this campaign are built and occupied at which time we will reassess and determine what the next most useful manner to help might be.
